The new musical Babylon is the story of the Kimball family and their journey through beauty, loss, greed and division -- along a winding road to healing, change and redemption.

The heavy depth of night and the fiery brilliance of sunrise play a recurring role in Babylon -- light emerging from darkness is symbolic, of regenerative beginnings and our highest potential.

Set in modern times, we meet our heroine Maylee under a sky glittering with stars in her magic forest, a place she returns to again and again. Maylee is a gifted musician, deeply connected to nature, and she remains rooted in hope throughout all her family’s suffering. Her father, Peter, is the CEO of Tricera Oil Corporation, and though he proclaims to be a devoutly religious man, he is caught in the expectations of corporate profit and power, exposing his hypocrisy. Peter falls farther from his own truths, degrading the environment and hardening his emotions, much to the painful observance of his family. After tragedy wounds the Kimballs beyond words, the family splinters, reflecting much of today’s societal division.

This family’s transformative journey, and their enduring love for each other, gives hope to us all -- that no matter how dark the world may seem, the light will again arrive in Babylon.
